Pre-Advice
Permanent cosmetic treatments normally require multiple treatment sessions. For best results, you will be required to return for at least one re-touch between four and six weeks after initial treatment.
Be prepared for the colour intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the first treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the tissue heals. This process can take up to ten days.
Do’s
- A sensitivity patch test must be performed unless wavered upon request.
- Any waxing should be performed at least 48 hours before treatment.
- Please consult me of any medical conditions, allergies, or regular medication.
- £100 booking fee is required to secure your appointment (this is non-refundable).
Don’ts
- Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or coumadin for two days before and two days after treatment.
- Do not drink alcohol the night before treatment.
- Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately after an eye treatment.
Aftercare
You may experience the following symptoms for 4 days;
- Minor swelling and redness.
- Mild tenderness.
- Itchiness in the eyebrow area.
- Dry, flaking skin.
- These symptoms are normal as part of the healing process.
Daily Care to follow for 2 weeks.
- For the first 2 days only: Wipe over your eyebrows very gently using cool boiled water and a cotton wool pad. Once in the morning and once in the evening. When you have done this, apply the healing balm over each eyebrow with a cotton wool bud. Use a clean, fresh bud and pad for each eyebrow. Do not use Vaseline or any other ointments as they will pull out the colour.
- I recommend that you use a gentle facial cleanser or wipes to freshen your skin during the first week. Do not splash wash your face or wipe over your eyebrows.
- When washing your hair, avoid getting your eyebrows wet. Do not put your face directly in the shower. Open windows to let out steam, as steam opens pores and pulls out pigment.
- Keep your hair away from your enhancement to prevent the possibility of infection.
- Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your enhancement as the colour may heal unevenly and you could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scaring. Allow the colour to flake away by itself.
- Do not receive skincare beauty treatments for 2 weeks after the application of your enhancement.
- Avoid exercise as sweating will pull out the pigment.
Avoid for 2 weeks.
- Do not expose your enhancement to direct sunlight, tanning treatments, jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools and direct shower spray, as doing so will pull out pigment.
- Do not receive eyebrow tinting, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to the brow region.
Important Notes:
- Remember your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined for 10 to 14 days after application but as the healing process occurs, the colour will soften and lighten. In many cases, the colour can disappear completely and blossom through in the week 4 healing period. This is due to an opaque layer of skin, forming over the brows which masks the hair strokes whilst healing.
- The approximate healing period is 4 weeks. However, healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed, and by poor diet.
- Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of your re-touch appointment. It allows me to fine tune your enhancement. If you do not attend your scheduled re-touch appointment you will be charged for any further treatment. Cancellation notice is always 72 hours prior to your appointment.
- If you require an additional re-touch, this will be at an extra cost.
Long Term Care:
- Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics. Sunbeds will also fade your enhancement quickly.
- If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.
- Please inform the National Blood Service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for a year post application.
- A colour boost is recommended every 6-18 months. However, you may need a colour boost sooner, depending on your skin type, medication, diet, lifestyle and if you use sunbeds or expose your skin to the sun.
